Malachi Part 3 – Consequences of Wrong Teaching

Reverend Phil Simmonds

PASTORS THOUGHTS

This week we look at the 3rd of God’s grievances – but this time it’s specifically against the Levite priests, who have dishonoured Him (and His Covenant with Levi) through their wrong teaching of the Law – which has led the people astray, and is therefore totally
unacceptable to God. Today, this would be primarily equated to Ministers / Pastors wrongly preaching/teaching from the Bible – God’s Word, in His Name. To help guard against this, God’s people should pray as the Apostle Paul requested in Ephesians 6:18-20.”

Malachi Part 2 – Consequences of Blemished Sacrifices

Reverend Phil Simmonds

PASTORS THOUGHTS

“This week we look at the 2nd of the grievances God has against His people. Their offering of blemished sacrifices, which are totally unacceptable to God (as made perfectly clear in Lev. 22 : 17- 33), and consequently treated by God as being disrespectful and unworthy of His Name, which is to be honoured, especially by His people, whether in word, action or thought! Question for Consideration : How does the Christian Church honour or dis-honour God in Christ today?”

Malachi Part 1 – Introduction

Reverend Phil Simmonds

PASTORS THOUGHTS

“This Sunday, we start a new series from the Old Testament Book of Malachi. The focus is upon God’s gracious “wake up” call to His backslidden Covenant Church—Israel, primarily and sadly due to the failure of its spiritual leaders, the Priests!
As is always the case with God’s Word, this remains a timely reminder and litmus test for today’s Church—World wide.”

Habakkuk Part 4 – The Sovereign Lord Is My Strength

Reverend Phil Simmonds

PASTORS THOUGHTS

“For all True Christians, there is a time, past present or future, when like Habakkuk, you will come (or have already come) to the realization that despite what is happening in your life, or the circumstances of an ever deteriorating world situation surrounding you, there is only one person to turn too – the Sovereign Lord God, in and through His Son the Lord Jesus, and His empowering Holy Spirit. It is then that the reality of the phrase “and you will know the peace that is beyond all (human) understanding” has true meaning in your life, and like Habakkuk, will bring you peace of mind, heart and soul – praise God.”

Habakkuk Part 3 – The Righteous Will Live By Faith

Reverend Phil Simmonds

PASTORS THOUGHTS

“One of the continuing Biblical themes from Genesis to Revelation is that “the righteous will live by faith” – which requires, no matter what the circumstances of life, that God’s people place their trust completely in God – His salvation found in Jesus Christ – His providence – His spiritual help in times of need – His promise of eternal life. However, this also requires much dependent prayer and encouragement before God’s Throne of Grace!”
